easy as pie- Very easy

For example, in the following underlined sentences:

                                           

• The english exam was easy as pie. The expression "easy as pie" means the exam was not difficult. If you want to say that something is/was very easy to do it, you can use the colloquial expression "Easy as pie".

         

In your face- Aggressive

• I got picked for the football team, and YOU didn't. In your face!. The expression "In your face" has a negative intention. In this case, it is used to hurt and mock somebody because he/she didn't get picked for the football team.

• He has a reputation for being a straight shooter. The colloquial expression "straight shooter" means a person who is very honest in every way, how he/she thinks, how he/she expresses himself/herself, how he/she acts among others.

A phrasal verb is a verb followed by a preposition or an adverb; the combination creates a different meaning from the original verb alone.

Here, you can see in the following underlined sentences some examples about Phrasal verbs.

• Could you pick up that paper, please?. Although the phrasal verb pick up has different meanings for example: Improve or learn quicly. In the sentence the expression means "Collect"-> (A person/ thing). Or in this case a paper on the floor in order to clean the garden.

• Andres sit down on your chair, please. The phrasal verb "Sit down" has a certain kind of meanings such as: Refuse to work, meal and talk. But it is depending of the context. In this case, it means to move your body in order that the lower part of it is resting on a seat or on the ground.

• After school I go back to home. This is another phrasal verb that has different meanings. You can use it to talk about (Origin, have existed and spoken). In the previous sentence the expression GO BACK means "To return" when you finish a school day.

• I go to the library to find out more information about phrasal verbs. In this case the phrasal verb "FIND OUT" means "To discover". But you can use it depends of the context to express different things for example: (To learn by study, observation, or search- to catch in an offense).
